I've read through the archives on the topic of Xinerama. It's not clear to me that there was a conclusion on the right way for things to work. Is that right? Looking at the current (4.8ish) code, there is obviously some support in place for Xinerama but it is all disabled and obviously broken. An

hg tip doesn't work well at all on Xinerama for me. I have ~20 applications. By default they all end up on a single monitor (expected), but they aren't tiled properly. No window was placed in the master area and the stacking region was not full (there was a large gap). The status bar seems wrong -
