I'm in the process of putting up and Extened Double Zepp cut for 40
meters(172 ft of wire). I have trees 70 ft high no problem. Getting the ends

You might be able to get away with an antenna wire through trees for a little
while if it's insulated and you don't get much rain, but I've found the tree
limbs abrade the insulation off and any wire-tree contact grounds the signal,
especially if it's rained or snowed. My solution: firewood.
