It sounds like you're looking at the Capture window, which is optimized for logging QSOs in real-time. To log old QSOs 1. Open the Config window's General tab, and uncheck the Option panel's Optimize for realtime QSO entry box 2. use the Main window's Log QSOs tab to record the QSO A. click
