If a station gives instructions regarding his address why would you
even consider changing it?

I have a feeling it goes via France, anyway. Since Reunion is a
French possession, why would it go any other way? The mail travels
via airplane and Air France has most of the flights in and out of
there. I wonder if the "via" instructions are simply ignored as irrelevant.
Kinda like sending something via Fedex Express. Whether it's going
to a neighboring state or across the country, it still goes via Memphis.
OTOH, I wonder if routing instructions on an envelope to an
independent country, such as JT , makes a difference.

You know I've always done this because opthers have told me to do
it. However, it begs the question: Where do the letters go (by what
route) if they DON'T say "Via France" on them? What route do they
take when they DO say that?

Hi Barry,
Strangely I've had no problems with FR5DX either....once I learned
to write REUNION ISLAND, FRANCE, or VIA FRANCE on the
envelope. Don't let it go direct. Our Gallic friends have a good post office.
