Not to be negative, but how come she and her husband are travelling around the world if they are of such modest means ? She has been in USA and lately in Germany and must have been several weeks " on the road", which is not cheap.

Important features will be 220VAC, built in antenna tuner, and rugged (voltage varies a lot, beastly hot there, and so on). This is a lady who regularily teaches ham radio to scores of school children (and a foreign ambassador, one time!) and is a powerful force for the hobby in India generally.
