(Riga and Talsi city) until July 19, 2005. He plans to be operate on all

15/07/2005:  Sasi JA1KJW/8, Yama JJ1JGI/8, Akira JK1EBA/8, Mitsu
7N4AGB/8 plan to be active July 15-18th from Rebun Island (IOTA AS-147,
JIIA AS-147-006), Hokkaido coastal island. QSL via their home call,

15/07/2005:  Look for Michel, HB9DLO/LH, Pascal HB9DWR/LH and
Pierre-Yves HB9OMI/LH to be active July 15 (18:00 UTC) to July 16 (12:00
UTC) from Phare des Pâquis (ARLHS reference SWI-001), à Genève (lac
Léman). This is the only lighthouse that is recognized by the ARLHS.
Activity will be on 7.070 and 14.270 MHz +/- QRM SSB, with CW activity
on 7.030 and 14.030 MHz +/- QRM. The team might try other bands,
depending on propagation. QSL to home calls either direct, bureau or

16/07/2005:  Look for Enrico (IZ5CML) to be active July 16-21st as
CU8/IZ5CML from the Ilha das Flores (IOTA EU-089, DIP AZ-008). Activity
will be on 40-10 meters, possibly 6 meter SSB. QSL via home, direct or

16/07/2005:  Guy, FR5ZL, will be active from Wallis Island (IOTA OC-054,
DIFO FW-001) as FW5ZL between July 16th and August 15th. Activity will
be on 40/30/20/15 meters CW/SSB, and possibly RTTY and PSK31. QSL direct

16/07/2005:  Peter, GM3OFT, will be active July 16-17th as GM3OFT/p from

16/07/2005:  Bob, N5ET, will be active July 16-17th as MM/N5ET/p from

16/07/2005:  The Noyelles sous Lens ARS, F8KHD, will be active July
16-23rd as TM1MAN from the French onshore Ault Lighthouse (DPLF PB-056,

16/07/2005:  The Radio Club of Redon (F6KQC) will be active July 16-17th
as TM5DUM from the Ile Dumet (IOTA EU-064, DIFM AT-018). This activity
will also count for DFCF reference 44-028, for the French Castles Award,
Département de Loire Atlantique (44). Activity will be on all HF bands
with 2 stations, one for CW and the other for SSB. They will also have

17/07/2005:  Kjell, SM4DDS, will be QRV July 17-22nd as 7S5A from Stora
Alo Island (IOTA EU-177). Activity will be on 80-10 meter CW and SSB.

17/07/2005:  Ralph, NM5RC/7, will be on Wizard Island, Crater Lake,
Klamath County, Oregon, on Sunday, July 17 from 19:00-22:00 UTC. The
island is listed as OR017 but has never been activated. Crater Lake
National Park island requires backpacking, commercial tour boat and has
strict restrictions on time of access. Power, battery capacity and
antenna will be minimal. Also expect propagation limitations getting out
of 1600-foot crater hole that the lake sits in. Ralph would appreciate
any contacts and any posting that would make it possible to get the
required 25 contacts. At this point he is guessing the chance of getting
the required contacts is less than 50%. Activity will be on 20 meters

17/07/2005:  Claude, HB9CRX, will be active July 17-31st as SV9/F8UFT/p
from Kissamos, Candie [Crete] (IOTA EU-015). Look for him on 40-10 meter

17/07/2005:  UE3EDA team (ops. Eugene RZ3EC, Igor UA3EDQ, Mike UA3EKG
with families and friends) start their trip to Ladoga Lake. Main
target - some RRA New Ones and lighthouses. Route to the lake (and back)
will pass some rare RDA districts. Short schedule: July 17 - two stops
in the Kaljazinsky (RDA TV-26)/Kashinsky (RDA TV-27) areas and
Kesovogorsky (RDA TV-28)/Bezhetsky (RDA TV-17) areas (possibly
Krasnoholmsky (RDA TV-31)/Bezhetsky (RDA TV-17) areas), Tverskaya oblast
(TV); July 18 - base camp in the Olonetsky (RDA KL-17) area
[Pitkjarantsky (RDA KL-18) area], during the week one or two islands in
RDA KL-17/18 areas and the Prjazhinsky (RDA KL-20)/Suojarvsky (RDA
KL-23) areas, Republic of Karelia (KL); July 23-24 - some more RRA
islands are possible; July 25 - road back (still not defined at this
time). They will be using the call signs UE3EDA/1 and UE1NEW. QSL via

17/07/2005:  Look for W3L to be active July 17-21st from Ocracoke island
(IOTA NA-067, USI NC-001S, Hyde County), North Carolina. They will also
be activating the Ocracoke lighthouse (ARLHS reference USA-561). QSL via

20/07/2005:  Look for Bjorn LA5UKA, Andreas LA8AJA and Trond LA9VDA to
be active July 20-24th as LA6Q from Utsira Island (IOTA EU-055) and

21/07/2005:  Look for DA0LH to be active July 21-24th from the
Robbenplate Lighthouse (DLTD/GLHA No. 43, WLH DL-026, ARLHS FED-198).

22/07/2005:  Karl, OE3JAG, plans to be active July 22nd to August 7th as
S79JAG from Mahe, Seychelles (IOTA AF-024, WW Loc. LI75SF). This will be
a DX holiday style operation. Karl will be using an FT-817, running QRP,
with random wire and dipole antennas. Look for activity on the following
bands and frequencies: CW - 14020, 18070, 21020, 24890 and 28020 kHz;
SSB - 14190, 18140, 21190, 24940 and 28190 kHz; RTTY - 14080, 18100,
21080, 24920 and 28080 kHz; and PSK - 14070, 18100, 21070, 24920 and

22/07/2005:  Look for Zick SP3BJK/1 and Przemek SQ3RX/1 to be QRV from
Wolin Island (IOTA EU-132, SPIA SZ-002 for the Polish Islands award)
from July 22 to August 2, 2005. Activity will be on all HF bands, CW and

22/07/2005:  Laurent F8BBL (CW) and Jean Marc F4ECL (SSB) will be active
as TM7CI from Ile de Cordouan (IOTA EU-159, DIFM AT-032) for 48 hours
non stop between July 22-23rd. Activity will be QRP on 80-10 meter CW
and SSB. Their equipment will be: FT817ND, W3FF Buddistick and dipoles.
They will also activate the Cordouan lighthouse (DPLF PB 018, WLH F-012,
ARLHS FRA-007 and WLOTA 0271). QSL via F8BBL, 100% via the bureau or

22/07/2005:  Igor Slakva, VA3YDX, will be active as VB3M from the
following Canadian Islands and lighthouses:
July 22nd, 2005, at 23:00 UTC from Little La Clotche Island - CISA: new
activation!
July 23rd, 2005: Great La Clotche Island (CISA ON-016), Birch Island
(CISA ON-017), Goat Island (CISA ON-072), Manitoulin Island (CISA
ON-001), Little Current Lighthouse (new activation!), Kagawong
Lighthouse (ARLHS CAN-259) and Janet Head Lighthouse (ARLHS CAN-203).
July 24th, 2005: Manitoulin Island (CISA ON-001), Skinny Island (CISA
new activation!), Barrie Island (CISA ON-015) and Providence Bay
Lighthouse (ARLHS CAN-416).
Main frequencies: 3.795/3.815, 7.060/7.260, 14.260 and 21.260 MHz. There
's a good possibility for hunting the CISA Trophy. QSL via VA3YDX direct

22/07/2005:  Linda (VE9GLF) and Len (VE9MY) will be activating some
islands over the next month or so. The following is their schedule of
operation. We will be working/vacationing during this time and operation
will be as time permits and band conditions dictate. July 22nd, 1-2 new
Canadian islands is (NS, Maybe IOTA NA-081???) and July 23rd, New
Canadian Island (NS) in IOTA NA-081. Activity will be on the ususal IOTA
frequencies, mobile or portable with 100 watts. QSL to home calls,

22/07/2005:  On Friday July 22 through Sunday July 24th the Michigan DX
Association (W8DXI) will activate South Manitou (USI MI-038L) and North
Manitou (USI MI-037L) Islands in Lake Michigan, Leelanau County,
Michigan. This will be their 12th Island activation and by far the most
Islands activated by a Michigan club. The activation of these Islands
will coincide with the clubs very own Great Lakes Sweepstakes on the
same weekend. They will also activate the South Manitou Lighthouse

30/07/2005:  The Amateur Radio Association of Bahrain, A92C, will be
active in the RSGB IOTA contest (July 30-31st) from Manama, Bahrain

30/07/2005:  Look for Tono, EA9CP, and Fernando, EA1BT, to be QRV July
30-31st as either EA9CP/EA1 or EA1BT/P from Arosa Island (IOTA EU-080,
DIE:O-007, D-1826) and the Punta del Caballo lighthouse (ARLHS reference

30/07/2005:  The team led by Franck, F4AJQ, for the RSGB IOTA contest to
Noirmoutier (IOTA EU-064), will be composed of: Franck F4AJQ, Thierry
F4TTR, Pascal F5JSD, John F5VHQ, Serge F6AML and Bernard F9IE. Call sign

01/08/2005:  Jean Claude, F6HDH, plans to be active as homecall/p, from
the Ile de Brehat (IOTA EU-074, DIFM MA-012) and the Heaux de Brehat
lighthouse (ARLHS FRA-021, WLOTA 0031) between August 1st to 5th.
Activity will be on 40 and 20 meters, with 17 and 15 meters possible.

07/08/2005:  Steve, W3HF, will be active as W3HF/4 from Bogue Banks
Island (IOTA NA-112, USI NC-010S, Grid Loc. FM14, Carteret County),
North Carolina, from August 7th to 13th. Operation will be QRP on 40
through 15 meters. Equipment will be a vertical and a Yaesu FT-817.
Primary mode will be PSK, with some SSB possible. (Steve requests that
stations who want SSB operation contact him before the trip via email
at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]). This operation qualifies for the APE
(August PSK Expedition) endorsement from the PODXS 070 Club
(http://www.podxs.com/html/070_club.html). There is also a possibility
of 6 meter PSK and/or SSB operation, from either Steve or his
eleven-year-old son Matthew (KB3JJV). QSL via home call, direct or

09/08/2005:  Jean Claude, F6HDH, and Francis, F6HKS, plan to be active
from several lighthouses of Ouessant, Ile d'Ouessant (IOTA EU-065, DIFM
AT-001), and some others from the surrounding EU-065 island group. Look
at the clusters; the small islands and lighthouses will be choosen as
weather and transport permits. They will be active each morning on
August 9 and 10 from 05:00 to 12:00 UTC. Francis will be operating as
F6HKS/p on 40, 30 and 20 meter CW, while Jean Claude will be operating
as F6HDH/p on 40, 20, 17 and 15 meter SSB. QSL via home calls, direct or

10/08/2005:  Last "unopened" IOTA New One in Russia is going to be
activated August 10-17, 2005!!! Team of operators: Roman RV3MA, Alex
RW3DTP, Sergey RW6HJV, Eugene RZ3EC, Valery RZ6AU and Leonid UA6CW will
operate either from Shalaurova Island or from some satellites (because
of high radiation on the main island!). Now, that is the matter of
discussion with IOTA committee. There is a lighthouse located on the
island also. Later on, the team plans to operate from Ayon Island
(AS-038) group (from Bolshoy and Malyj Routan Islands, where lighthouses
are located valid for WLH, RLHA, ARLHS and WLOTA award programs). More
