I just had a fun time reading the comments on the reflector regarding obtaining a QSL
from KU9C. When I look at the calls that complain, almost without question, here is
the mistake they are making. I know many of you know this, but thought I'd share, and
ask you, as a potential elmer, to pass it on.

IF you send a card to a manager that manages multiple calls (and thankfully, there are
many of us)....DO NOT send a wide variety of cards in the same envelope. This is
largely a DX to USA problem, although a number of US stations do this. I don't mind a
few...but...here are some thoughts to help you decide:

1. Ideally, send ONE call sign per envelope, and in cases of mine like BQ9P, ONLY
request one operation, not two or three.

2. If you must send more than one call, think about how badly you want the call.
Don't send a card that you already have the band/mode/prefix/whatever confirmed...it
makes work for me and slows your card. Also, don't send a card from a contact 2 or 3
years ago with a current card. Invariably, I do cards based on volume. If you send a
PW0T card with a BS7H card...it will be some time, as I don't get that much volume on
BS7H, so I don't 'touch' those cards as often as I do others.

3. If you're sending a donation, or multiple greenstamps with your submission,
PLEASE send a few SAEs or mail labels. I get many stations that send in more than is
required for return postage...and I could easily send two sases...but the time it
takes to write one out sometimes keeps me from doing it...if you send a few SAE's , it
makes life REAL easy

4. Don't send one QSO on the card, and then ask me to 'send all QSOs.' I DO NOT DO
THIS...if you want a band/mode confirmed, you MUST send me your QSO info to check. I
DO NOT pre-print labels; I'm very much against this method of QSLing...so DO NOT ask.

Most of the folks I see complaining send 3-4-5 calls per envelope..wait a few months,
and then resend, maybe with another qso or call tossed in for good measure. I try to
answer them all...but that practice is getting VERY tiring.
