I think the dx op is the only benefactor
in this scenario, and even then only if it doesn't backfire on him/her. I
know that on the rare ocassions I get involved (from the pileup end) in a 'call
area' pileup, when I work him/her it's as if I did it under some kind of
handicap. Victory becomes less savory when the road to it was TOO easy. Where's
the satisfaction in that?
I know some of you may be wondering
'Yeah, but what about the guy/girl in an apartment with a cheapo wire
antenna and QRP?' Ah.. but that's what makes the top ops... *top*
ops.
