Public bug reported:
When you click on the shutdown or restart command in the gear menu the
shutdown dialogue appear asking you again if you want to shutdown or
restart the computer.
Either remove the obsolete entry in the gear menu, or shutdown/restart
the computer without asking again.
In the most recent updates, this seems to have been implemented: only
one Shut Down... option in the menu and then the choice between
Restart and Shutdown. Perfect!

When someone asks me 'what does digging your heels in' mean? I'm gonna
refer them to this page. I mean this is just stupid. Make the timeout
configurable - everyone's asking for it, it's easy to do. Most people

I had the same problem, with Lenovo Thinkpad Twist and Saucy Salamander.
It's kind of intermittent, I'm now trying to understand whether echo
LID0 | sudo tee /proc/acpi/wakeup solves the problem.

To be honest I'm not sure this is a bug and not a feature, but here
goes:
1. Open two apps
2. Middle-click on the focused one
3. Focus changes to the other app, which is brought to front
4. Middle-click on the unfocused one
5. It flickers to front and straight back
