All, this problem went away for me after I did, 1) dconf reset -f /org/compiz/ setsid unity And mostly 2) I used to run a laptop and a monitor (dual monitor) with only 1 launcher, but since I reset Unity I have kept Launcher placement to All displays - Ie. I did not touch the defaults after
