No, the update fixed it so that certain steps documented earlier in this
ticket provides the hibernate option, but those steps need to be
incorporated into the documentation before this ticket is closed.

Still having the problem repeatedly where the gear icon, clock and more
don't show up in the top status bar. Repeatedly. Every time. But things
have gotten both better and worse.
I found that if I select gnome or gnome flashback that everything is
fine. That is, the gear is there and I can pull do
also, its not like unity8 will be used in concert with unity7, its just
a temporary annoyance of demonstration

When unity was upgrade ub Ubuntu 12.04 it cause very slow screen redraw.
I am now using Uunity 2D. I use a 2 graphic card setup with basicmosiac
enabled. It worked with all version of unity. I have also installed
Nvidia driver 331.20 from an ubuntu packages.
I expeted normal
I use advise #8. I uninstall unity-scope-home and again install it.
WARNING: I was not able install unity-scope-home from software-center. I had to
download unity-scope-home_6.8.2+13.10.20131003-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb from
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org manually and install it by command line.
