I see two things going wrong here. First, (not present) should only be
used for internal batteries; peripherals that aren't present shouldn't
be shown at all. There are thousands of possible chargeable devices not
present on your PC, so I don't know

Dash search bar doesn't reflect state of privacy
Indeed, opening the Dash again and selecting the item again triggers
playback. So the issue seems to be that when Rhythmbox gets started by
the dash, it does not immediately receive the item selection as well.

Per Charles, a plain C Alarms API that's currently in draft form is
completed. Plans implement this this right after Christmas break and
then make indicator-datetime dogfood this API to connect to the EDS
backend.
Once that is complete, clock should be able to make the API call via qml
corect?

Hi! I just created a very simple example (see attachment file). Just
uncompress and run the test.py file:
$ python2 test.py
$ sudo python2 test.py
FINE: Geany icon is showed in Unity.
$ python3 test.py
$ sudo python3 test.py
BUG: Generic python icon is showed in Unity.
the workaround does not solve the missing dropdown of the workspace
selection right after the start. but - one can open the file browser so
there is a workaround here as well.
