Just chiming in that this has effected me as well. Usually get the 'disk space is low' warning, then an 'rm -rf ~/.cache/upstart' clears up the issue. This has happened multiple times. Just tried removing logrotate and reinstalled as someone recommended earlier in the thread. Running 14.04.1,
