that should at least tell us whether or not indicator-datetime-service
reached the point of owning its name on
From what aacid's said in IRC and in duplicate bug #1421919, indicator-
datetime-service is still running but is not responding to dbus-send
messages.
If anyone experiences this in the future, a gdb backtrace could be
helpful here -- I'm wondering if the code is deadlocked somewhere s.t.

Yeah it might be specific to fglrx. I removed fglrx just there and it
didn't happen with the open source one. So I think its definitely a

clicks on an ical event menuitem.
In practice, datetime currently has clock-app hardwired for dispatching
alarms (dispatch_url('appid://com.ubuntu.clock/clock/current-user-
version')) and calendar-app
Nope stock Unity, reinstalled 13 days ago no non-default settings other
than a different wallpaper.

I just checked the scaling and it doesn't matter what happens with the
scaling it still has the corruption. I tested with both smaller and
larger scale and I made sure to fullscreen it again to make sure it did
a redraw.

mode, it will render its contents fine, until demaximized and maximized
