I had a similar problem with Ubuntu 14.04.2 and Gnome. The upper Toolbar
was missing. Following a suggestion by Liviu Andronic I changed the
Desktop Environement to Xfce and the problem disappeared.

mouse cursor gets corrupted
Status
I've got a Logitech K810 keyboard but unlike in this bug, no PIN prompt
will be shown, it will appear in the connected devices, but the
connectivity lights will keep flashing and keypresses will not do
anything. Do you think this is a separate issue?
