Per spec, if an app/game is playing sounds but not music, that is the
alert output role. As long as an alarm is not sounding, a phone call
is not in progress, and you're not playing music some other way, all
volume controls should adjust the volume of that app's sounds.

Hi Sebastien,
I am using Ubuntu 15.04 64 bit Desktop fully updated. The desktop environment
is the default one, namely Unity.
My laptop is an Asus UX31A.
The issue appears only when the computer is locked therefore I cannot
print the screen. But simply the empty battery symbol is white instead
