Hitting "alt-enter" gets me back as a work-around when clicking fails,
but this has been a problem for a few versions of Ubuntu.

Just to add my findings to this, the i915 fault also appears on a
Ubuntu-Mate install but apparently recovers from it to log-in and run
correctly.

was the window which had focus.
I don't know how it got the state. I could have locked it manually, it could

I disabled bluetooth on my laptop in indicator-bluetooth and now
whenever I try to re-enable it, the switch flips off again after I flip
it to "on". I had to resort to the command line to enable my bluetooth
again.

My laptop was crawling and swapping like mad, ran top and found unity-

In all applications Ctrl+Shift U0 no longer enters UniKey characters

setting the default to true would be just as good if making a mandatory
field is challenging - that also wouldn't break any existing scopes that
don't declare a value for it. They would just only be used if online
searching was enabled, if they don't specify that they are "safe" for
local only mode
This bug is still present in 13.10.
The Alt-Grave shortcut is captured by Unity and cannot be removed from
the System Settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts dialog or the Unity Tweak
Tool. This prevents other applications from using the shortcut
(RubyMine, for example).

We could probably crowd source this information. A simple google
spreadsheet questionnaire which asks for ubuntu release cpu/ram/gpu
model and the main 5 apps used, along with the results of running a
simple desktop (not gaming) benchmark might be useful here.
