I have tried disabling my three online Google accounts and the subprocess

Plus, the nice little workaround does not seem to function in 16.04.
Simply re-invoking the process does not lead to it exiting. I've seen it
crash several times in a row with no obvious pattern to it (except it
happens fairly soon after login).

Still a major memory hog in 16.04 with a clean install (except for /home

The process has changed names and is now dubbed

@aj-sahagun
Works fine now. So apparently, when you want a couple of commands to be
launched one after the other in the startup list, you can't just write:
sleep 60;
You have to explicitly call bash -c like this:
bash -c 'sleep 60; '
Good to know!

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't aware you had to explicitly call bash

I have the exact same problem. Adding an autostart entry did not help, for
reasons I do not understand. If I type it manually in a terminal, it works
fine. If I add an autostart entry with the exact same command, nothing happens

Hi. I also see this problem frequently--probably every time that updates

I leave the computer on overnight (since suspend doesn't work for me in

One other thing--I think Compiz tends to crash every night, because in
the morning I find whatever windows I left open scattered around my
first workspace. Perhaps this could be reproduced by launching the
Software updater and then crashing Compiz? Or running 'compiz

I had this bug back when Saucy was new, and the fix for it back then
worked.
It returned today for the first time on Saucy (fully updated). killall
unity-panel-service worked as an immediate fix, but I hope the bug does
not return. This was on a fresh boot. Apparently something
regressed?
This bug has returned today on my machine (fully updated Saucy / 13.10
64-bit) after seeming fixed for months. I had to killall unity-panel-
service as an immediate/temporary solution but I hope it will be fixed
in distribution.
Is it the same as this one?
Just wanted to add to the list of people having this same issue. All

Thank you for your quick response. That has worked. I will pass this

I had the indicator-session problem, and was glad to see it was fixed in

several upgrades of Ubuntu/Unity already.
