On Ubuntu 14.10 this still happens, and annoys me. It happens both on
my laptop and my work desktop. Interestingly, Super+s and Super+w work
fine even if I type them extremely quickly, but Super+a does not work
and inputs 'a' to the focused application instead of opening the
application lens. An
Unity version from trusty-proposed fixes this issue. I have tested it
for several days and did not notice and regression.

Yes, I had enabled workspaces. When I disable workspaces the problem
goes away. I didn't notice it before.

My notebook has a 1366x768 screen - it is a very common resolution. When

Will the "Visibility: Hidden/Always displayed" option be added to the
"System Settings/Appearance", in Ubuntu 14.04? Or is it too late? Would
something like the screenshot in the attachment be possible for
unmaximized windows? Thanks.
