This turns out to be quite simple. libzeitgeist-2.0-0 has Recommends:
zeitgeist | zeitgeist-core. If we switch these around we should avoid
pulling in the metapackage that pulls in python-zeitgeist (which nothing

More investigation shows that this is actually a Unity bug. The black
screen you are seeing is the lock screen but Unity doesn't have a lock
screen when in guest mode. The lock screen is triggered when you switch
users via the indicator.

I'm affected by this. System settings Time Date Clock options are
available and seem to function normally. I've tried the following
solutions; none have restored my clock to the unity panel.

default_adapter can be null because it's not set when the Bluez object
is created or it might have disappeared. I'm not sure what the code is

Note I used the LightDM session interface to check if sessions are open.
logind keeps sessions around after logout (due to pulseaudio staying
alive?) so this leads to a misleading warning.

The issue is the interface is from GNOME and doesn't support additional
information to be passed. So we either need to extend/replace it or just
do the checking in the dialog.

hitting it to disable that and he has not hit the problem again in over
a month.
