Title:
Alt-tab doesn't switch between two most recent windows of same
  application on external monitor

Status in Unity:
  Invalid
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Expected behaviour:
When my laptop has no external monitor plugged in, if the two most recently
focused windows are from the same application then alt-tab will happily switch
between them without needing to wait for the application icon in the switcher
to "explode" into the two subwindows. It does this whether the switcher overlay
has had time to pop up or not.

  Buggy behaviour on external monitor:
However, if I have an external 1920x1080 monitor plugged in (with laptop
screen off) alt-tab becomes partially stuck on the most recent window. No
matter how many times I try to alt-tab from the most recent window to the
second most recent of the same application group, it always selects the
currently focused window. It will not switch to the other window until the
application icon explodes into its component windows, at which point it will
automatically select the correct window as soon as the exploding is complete.

In this situation it will still switch to a different application
  without issue.

The result is that to alt-tab between the two most recent windows, if
they happen to be of the same application, takes a few seconds because
you must wait for the sub-window explosion or invoke it via the arrow
  keys.

Alt-` continues to work as expected.

  On Thinkpad X220 with Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit.
