Bug description:
  booted into MATE 17.10 alpha. Ran System updater and installed all
  updates. Did not restart and instead I ran Synaptic to remove old
  kernels. Then conky system became funny, ordinary text then heavier
  text. I logged out and back in. Apport reported this crash.
