I made a critical mistake when I released the latest Custom Award
database. I did not realize the error until I tried the POTA
conversion myself, after Help | Check for Updates. The error is in
the file that maps the old reference numbers to the new reference
numbers. There are two entries for [POTA]. The first one should have
been removed, but it was not. I would have noticed this if I had done
even a little testing with the released files.

To fix the problem, you will have to go back to your original logbook
(before the POTA award conversion). Any QSOs you made subsequent to
this will have to be added to the "fixed" logbook after the
conversion. Make sure to copy your latest logbook somewhere safe, so
you can add those QSOs later (see the end of this message).

You can take one of two approaches.

1. Wait for Paul to release the Custom Award map. You will know that
this has happened when you try Help | Check for Updates and see "Maps
old Custom Awards to New Awards" as one of the files to be updated.

2. Edit the award map yourself. First, exit DX4WIN. Next, navigate
to your SAVE directory. Using Notepad, edit the file "awdmap.txt".
Use control-F to find the first [POTA] entry in the file. It should
look like this (I am showing some lines before and after to give you
context):

    [OHPO]
    NewAwd=OHPOTA

    [POTA]
    K-(\d{4})=K-0$1
    KFF-(\d{4})=K-0$1

    [ROBI]
    ([A-Z]{2})([\d]{2}.*)$1-$2=(null)

Remove the four lines beginning with [POTA] (including the blank line)
so that it now looks like this:

    [OHPO]
    NewAwd=OHPOTA

    [ROBI]
    ([A-Z]{2})([\d]{2}.*)$1-$2=(null)

Save the file. Restart DX4WIN. Then you can follow the instructions here:

    http://ad1c.us/dx4win/awards/POTA.html

Finally, you should merge any new QSOs from your latest logbook into this one.

    File | Import/Export
    File | Merge DX4WIN log

Choose the option to Ignore Duplicate QSOs when you do this.

This will cause pain for some people. I am truly sorry.
