Here's the skinny on "cut numbers". Some memory keyers support cut
numbers.Basically, they are an abbreviated way of sending some things
on CW especially used during contests.
Cut Numbers...
in sending RST reports in abbreviated form, for example 599, is sent as
5NN. "N" in place of the num
5NN is a cut number for a 599 signal report, for example.
A long dash is a number zero.
Cut numbers serve as time savers in contests. There are other ways to save
milliseconds ... which add up to minutes.
You don't win contests with courtesy. I can make another contact while
you're saying "73,

I'm not familiar with that term, but DX4WIN supports prosigns.
There is a file in the save sub-directory, DX4WIN.PRO that can be edited
using notepad for example.
