[Dx4win] data transfer to pc

I have yaesu 5000 and have signal link hooked from tranceiver to pc. I can not get mode and band to transfer to FT-8 program or to DX4Win logging program. I assume it is something I am not doing with pc. Any suggestions appreciated. Don -- Donald Chamberlain 2 Coxswain Place Salem, SC 29676 US
