Now with this whole Enron and Global Crossing mess, I think independent audits should be done of the DGCs. I think an independent association could be started for this purpose. I would be willing to contribute a few grams per year to have independent audits done of e-gold, GoldMoney, e-bullion, etc. The association and the DGCs can hammer out the terms of the audit. I want to be clear, I am not suggesting that there is corruption taking place or that the current audits are deficient. I think independent audits would make the DGCs more attractive to prospective account holders. I think if we dont use the free market to do the audits, some gubmint is going to decide its their duty to protect all us account holders. Then follows regulation, etc. Of course, some gubmint may decide to regulate any way.
