This is an interesting read and may have an impact on e-gold in the future.

I realise that e-gold is not incorporated in the US but I would like to hear
of potential impacts that may come of this.

This fincen ruling is regarding anti-money laundering under PATRIOT, the
definition of "financial institutions" is very broad including commodity
pool operators, looks like a slow phase in to force record keeping on anyone
who touches anything of value.
