It has come to our attention that someone has created an e-gold account (361595) with the account name of "goldmoney" and apparently has stolen funds from at least one individual within the e-gold system.
Whether or not this is truly a theft at this point is unclear as all of the details are not yet available. The distraught victim contacted us asking what had happened to their funds. We explained that the problem is entirely within e-gold and has nothing to do with us. For the record, GoldMoney does not have any e-gold account. If these funds were truly stolen, it means that the e-gold account owner has had their e-gold account passphrase compromised or is the victim of some other kind of fraud.
