I have a problem with a Paritate bank VISA Electron debit card (It's not an anonymous card). When I try to get a balance report I get a "Transaction Rejected" message.
I still don't know if it's the card or Argentine ATMs. I'll ask tomorrow to my Argentine bank manager if it's a problem of local ATMs. The reason why I'm posting this message is I'd like to know if anyone else have had that kind of problem with Latvian cards before. Besides it calls to my attention that the card's numbers aren't embossed and it has an "ELECTRONIC USE ONLY" legend. What does that mean? I checked the number with a verification software and it's OK. Do you know some site where I can verify if my card was really issued by VISA? So far I'm glad I didn't deposit much money in that account. If I have to wait for a cashier's cheque every time I have to withdraw, it will be a little "heartburnish". Any recommendations of other jurisdictions where I could open a bank account? I'll be grateful for any information...
