Try "Desktop Themes"[*] to change fonts used in the user interface. I'm sure
there are equally easy ways to customize MacOS and the various flavours of
Linux, BeOS and so forth.

[*] Desktop Themes is included in Windows 98 or later, in Microsoft Plus,
for Windows 95, and equivalent functionality is in free or shareware Windows
95 add-ons that you can download at various websites (search www.Google.com
for "Desktop Themes"), or simply use the relevant Windows 95 Control Panel
to individually change the appropriate screen element even without the full
Theme treatment.
