The Shadowcash system is a robust value and payment management system, with features comparable to many widely known operating payment systems. Some of the highlights: Security Shadowcash allows you and your customers to choose your own level of security and convenience, with optional IP address tracking, optional account recovery, configurable session timeouts, and encryption. The software uses Gnu Privacy Guard, an OpenPGP-compliant encryption program, to sign and encrypt emails to clients who provide OpenPGP keys. Keys can be made mandatory for account creation. Customers do not have to provide any part of their login information to receive payments. The administration interface offers many options, such as hiding usernames in login fields and limiting accounts created per IP per day, which help the administrator manage security in a manner compatible with your business model. Employees or agents have only those permissions they require to complete their tasks. Messaging The Shadowcash messaging system provides a method for customers who cannot or will not use OpenPGP encryption to communicate securely with the administrator(s), or if enabled, with each other. The recipient list is fully configurable; admins can make any user of the system messagable, allowing great flexibility in office management. Your client support officer need not have any access to any part of the administration site, greatly reducing the chance of a successful 'social engineering' attempt. Payments Shadowcash currently has both "direct" payments and "delayed" payments. Direct payments are irrevocable, immediate, and require both parties to have an account at payment time. Delayed payments are more flexible, allowing users to set aside funds to be paid to either a specified payment (email) address or to the bearer of the payment ID. In addition, the sender can allow the recipient to select an amount to accept, up to the limit of the payment, and subpayments can occur any number of times (if funds remain in the original 'line of credit') until the expiration date of the delayed payment. Expirations are set by the sender, from one day to over one hundred years. In spite of the possible complexity, the payment system is easy to use. Initially, the payment form is simple and to the point. Only if a user selects "Show all options" does the full range of features appear, for the direct payment. Further, recently paid addresses appear in the dropdown list on the simple form, making the complex form unnecessary much of the time, which helps reduce the frequency of mistakes. Of course, there are comprehensive preview screens as well. Auditing Shadowcash has a widely configurable auditing system. Any account can be audited, including the administration accounts and the backing account, if the accountholder so desires. Further, the audited account's holder can allow or deny viewing of completed transactions (history), pending transactions, memos, and private comments independently. Customization As you may have noted from the previous descriptions, the Shadowcash system is configurable in almost every way. With over a hundred individual options, and full control over things like periodic maintenance tasks, user and administrator permissions, and site layout, you may never need customization of the software itself.
