With the new gold ETF being announced for launch this summer, I was
wondering how long it will take until somebody builds a GDC based on it.
This gold ETF will trade like ordinary shares on the NYSE, at 1/10th of the
price of an ounce of gold.
It will be redeemable for real gold bars if you have at least 10000 ounces,
100000 shares (too high for most, but it is redeemable and that's what
matters)
And this gold ETF has no storage costs.

That means somebody who creates a DGC based on this ETF will be able to
offer lower fees.

Insiders predict that soon we will have a whole range of commodity based
ETF's that trade like shares.
Oil and grains will follow besides the metals.

Which could mean that soon we will able to pay somebody with e-corn or
e-sugar, just like used to be thousands of years ago.
Things coming full circle.
Will this replace the dollar/paper currencies?
