Dear Sandra,

Am looking at adding CreditCards to the accepted payments
but at this stage there is only e-gold and IntGold.

Many people like credit cards, but I don't. I think they are a suboptimal method of purchases for many people, and a very bad option for most. They are also terrible for the merchant, compared to say, e-gold.

I think it is great you are using e-gold as a payment
method. Good for you.

I think it is terrible you have chosen IntGold. There
is no evidence I've seen that there is any gold to
IntGold. There is no defined process for redeeming
IntGold to gold. There is considerable evidence that the
same guys who are running IntGold are also running
Ponzi-type schemes. For these reasons, I think the
comparison to OSGold is clear.

Since you may be a relatively new person in the gold
currencies arena, OSGold failed spectacularly between
June and July 2002 after operating for nearly a year as
a gold currency. It, too, had close ties to Ponzis,
had no defined method of redemption, and had no gold
to it, although at one point the promoters claimed that
OSGold was 150% backed by gold. By some claims, as much
as sixty million US dollars worth of OSGold was left
in the hands of customers, tens of thousands of whom were
unable to get any value out of the worthless currency.
There were several lawsuits as a result, and I doubt if
full value will ever be recovered.

I think you've made a mistake in accepting IntGold.
It isn't hard to correct at this stage, though.

Good luck with your business.

Regards,

Jim
