I am organizing "People/Technologies/Environments," a session for the 26th
Symposium of the International Committee for the History of Technology
(ICOHTEC), August 16-21, 1999, in Belfort, France. For the session, I am
seeking contributions which explore the crucial role technology plays in
the interrelationship between humans and nature, case studies, if you
will, in what I am calling "the technology junction."

The general theme of the ICOHTEC Symposium is technological choice, and,
as always, a variety of social activities are being planned in conjunction
with the meeting, including an evening with ICOHTEC's own jazz group "The
Email Special."

Anyone interested in participating should let me know by email as soon as
possible. At this stage all I need is a topic idea (paper title and a
sentence) and a short resume. I'll be seeking abstracts after the first
of the year.
