Helo there,
I am tutoring a rural development thesis on gender and sustainability
under the argument that the marginal contribution of gender equity to
sustainability in the rural sector is always positive but increasing as
equity improves. In other words, rural women do contribute to
sustanibility, even under unequal conditions, but greater gender equity
should lead to even more sustainable practices at household and village
levels.
We are looking for ways of measuring (qualit/quantit) gender equity in the
rural sector. We have thought on factors such as decisions taking, income
managment and distribution inside the household, etc. but are still doubting.
Any literature, empirical studies, etc. Thanks for your help.
