FACULTY POSITIONS IN ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY AND MICROBIAL ECOLOGY Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for two nine- month, full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professorships, one in Environmental Chemistry and one in Microbial Ecology. Both positions will be based at WSUs Vancouver campus and are expected to begin August 16, 2015. For more information about both positions, please find full Notices of Vacancy at https://www.wsujobs.com/. For the position in Environmental Chemistry we especially encourage applications from scientists whose research addresses the chemical (especially biogeochemical or geochemical) dynamics and effects of environmental contaminants in an ecosystem context, and from those who examine nutrient or carbon cycling from a chemical perspective. Review of applications begins Nov. 7. For the position in Microbial Ecology we especially encourage applications from scientists who employ modern bioinformatic or genomic approaches to understand the ecology of microorganisms that mediate ecosystem services or interact with various anthropogenic stressors such as global change, contaminant loading, land use change, resource exploitation, or biological invasions. Review of applications begins Nov. 17. WSU Vancouver offers both undergraduate and graduate programs and has a rapidly growing student body (currently 3,200) and faculty, with science and engineering as areas of emphasis. As a multi-campus Tier I research institution, WSU offers competitive salaries and start-up packages, and research expectations and teaching loads are consistent across the four WSU campuses.
