Assistant Professor of Biology:   Fish Ecology

The Department of Biology at Coastal Carolina University invites applications 
for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level 
beginning Fall 2013.

Candidates must have a Ph. D and will be responsible for teaching Ichthyology, 
Principles of Ecology, and will have the opportunity to teach other advanced 
courses in their area of specialization. Successful candidates will be expected 
to emerge as exemplars of teaching, contribute to both introductory and 
graduate courses and develop potentially fundable research programs in fish 
ecology involving undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates whose 
research interests include freshwater systems are encouraged to apply.

The Biology Department has over 500 undergraduate majors, 18 graduate students 
and 19 full-time faculty. Undergraduate students earn a B.S. Degree in Biology. 
The department also participates in an interdisciplinary M.S. in Coastal Marine 
and Wetland Studies, and offers courses for graduate students in the Masters of 
Arts in Teaching program in the Spadoni College of Education. Construction is 
underway for the Kenneth E. Swain Hall which will contain state of the art 
instructional and research labs with expected completion in early 2013. For
