Restoration Ecologist

ROLE of the POSITION
The School of Life Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, 
tenure-track faculty position in Landscape Restoration Ecology at the level 
of Assistant Professor, commencing Fall 2014. Preference will be given to 
applicants with research interests in landscape restoration ecology or 
ecosystem management using approaches which could include field experiments, 
spatially explicit ecological modeling and/or remote sensing. The successful 
applicant is expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research 
program that involves mentoring of doctoral students, and helps to build our 
growing national reputation. The successful candidate is also expected to 
teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to 
participate in departmental service activities. Applicants must have a Ph.D. 
in Ecology or a closely related field from an accredited college or 
university. Post-doctoral experience is preferred. The successful candidate 
should have expertise in state of the art analytical and/or computational 
techniques in their field of interest. This position is initially funded 
through NSF EPSCoR and the selected individual will be expected to conduct 
environmental research associated with solar energy development in the arid 
West.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates are required to have an earned a doctorate in ecology or a 
closely related discipline from a nationally accredited college or 
university at the time of hiring; strong preference will be given to 
candidates with demonstrated experiences in ecological processes at the 
landscape level.  

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.
