Registration for the NADP 39th Annual Scientific Symposium and Committee Meetings which will be this fall in Santa Fe, New Mexico from October 31 November 4, 2016 is now open. NADP committee meetings, open to all, will take place on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1. The Scientific Symposium will be held Wednesday - Friday, November 2-4. The Scientific Symposium will include:
Two and one-half days of oral presentations grouped by theme; A keynote address on Thursday morning by Dr. Dan Wildcat providing a perspective on environmental issues facing tribal communities and how the beliefs and lifestyle of Native Americans align with goals of environmental protection and sustainability; A poster session and reception on Wednesday evening; and An optional field trip on Friday afternoon to the NADP monitoring site at Bandelier National Monument. NADP will award free registration for the top 10 student abstracts submitted for poster or oral presentations at the NADP Fall 2016 Meeting in Santa Fe. Abstracts will be judged on novelty, relevance, and clarity. In addition, NADP will hold an awards competition, with $500 prizes for the best oral presentation and for the best poster presentation. The first author must be a current student or have graduated no earlier than May 31, 2016. Students must be responsible for a majority of the work presented. All student presenters will be automatically entered into the competition, so all you need to do is mark that you are a student when you submit your abstract. All student abstracts and presentations will be judged and reviewed by an awards committee.
