Tenure-track Faculty Position in Water Quality The Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a tenure- track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 2018. A Ph.D. in the life sciences and postdoctoral research experience are required.

We seek candidates who will develop research focusing on the biological causes and consequences of changing water quality with emphases on environmental applications and a significant field component to be based in the Great Plains. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to: natural and anthropogenic factors influencing the flow of excess nutrients or contaminants within watersheds; effects of water quality on organisms, biological communities (plant, animal or microbial communities), or ecosystems; or the efficacy of management activities intended to maintain or improve water quality. The successful candidate will establish an active, externally-funded research program and contribute to introductory biology or environmental science courses and senior/graduate level courses. Field-based facilities support research and teaching programs in the department; these include a 172-ha prairie preserve and infrastructure for river-based experiments. Located on the eastern border of Nebraska, near the Missouri River, the city of Omaha ranks highly for quality of life, affordability, and economic strength.
