Tenure-Track Faculty- Plant Biology

Rider University has recently expanded its investment in STEM education and is 
in the 
process of building new infrastructure and academic programs.  As a result, the 
Department 
of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Health Sciences in the College of 
Liberal Arts and 
Sciences is recruiting for five full-time faculty positions: two in Biology, 
one in Health 
Science, and two in Exercise Science.  Further information about the Department

The following is an announcement for candidates for a tenure-track Assistant 
Professor 
position in Plant Biology to begin September 2019. 

Candidates must have a PhD or other terminal degree in their field of study, 
experience 
teaching undergraduate students, and the ability to engage undergraduates in an 
active, 
independent research program.  Preferred candidates will have a record of 
outstanding 
teaching of diverse populations of undergraduates and post-doctoral experience. 
 Candidates 
who are broadly trained in plant biology or plant ecology, and whose research 
program 
integrates field work with genetics, bioinformatics, computing, modeling, 
and/or analysis of 
“big data” are preferred.

Responsibilities for this position will include contributing to instruction of 
general biology as 
well as upper-level courses in his/her disciplinary specialty, developing an 
active research 
program engaging undergraduate students, advising students and providing value 
to the 
Department, College and University. Willingness to work collaboratively with 
other faculty 
and to mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures and academic 
backgrounds 
is essential.
