The Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies is seeking a full time Assistant Research Specialist to provide support for research activities in computational ecology of infectious disease. Main duties will include the collection and curation of data from diverse sources including published literature, the web, and existing repositories and online databases; standardizing metadata across curated data files; and preparing tables for integration into relational databases.The individual will work in the laboratory of Dr. Barbara Han, Millbrook, NY. This position is full time for one year, subject to annual renewal, and includes salary plus benefits. Start date is flexible.
Qualifications require a bachelor's degree in biological, physical, or computer sciences. The applicant should possess previous training in biological or information sciences, and previous research experience in infectious disease/ecology is preferred.
