In general, folks who follow hummingbirds in the eastern U.S. report fewer vagrants this winter than in some years past. Nonetheless, we did manage to capture a young male Rufous Hummingbird at Matthews NC, and that's the topic of our current "This Week at Hilton Pond" photo essay.
