________________________________ The Department of Conservation & Recreation's Division of Natural Heritage is seeking candidates for a Natural Areas Protection Manager position #00401 located in Richmond. DCR's Natural Heritage Division is the state program responsible for identifying and protecting Virginia's natural communities and rare species and managing the State Natural Area Preserve System. The Natural Areas Protection Manager is part of an integrated team of 40 full-time biologists and natural resource professionals which have come from across the U.S. to identify VA's biodiversity and expand the Natural Area Preserve System of 62 Natural Area Preserves totaling 55,600 acres supporting 760 natural communities and rare species. The Program has been twice recognized as the best in the Western Hemisphere. This position leads a team of experts in identifying Virginia's natural area protection priorities.
