Dear Colleagues:

For years, I have been teaching an environmental science(s) course. What we
do in the classroom has so extensively departed from the textbook that that
I am prepared for a change of textbook, asap. This alternative textbook I
am imagining (= not sure if it exists) that I would like your
recommendations should have the following characteristics:

1. 15-20 chapters, well illustrated, interactive, etc. (= with all the
bells and whistles of *intuitive* technology, ideally no logins/passwords,
in other words, as I like to say, ideally, no thinking about technology
required to access the sites, etc.).

2. Intends to communicate (as contrasted to impress) readers.

3. With an international emphasis (as contrasted to emphasis on the USA).

4. With plenty of activities that foster critical thinking, quantitative
reasoning, and all the buzzwords of value in pedagogy, etc.

5. With due respect to the history of ideas (as contrasted to an
ahistorical approach) as well as the social sciences/humanities.

6. Anything else of value you may want to suggest.

If you have any constructive suggestion, please send me an email to:
blayjo...@gmail.com

In gratefulness,

Jorge
