*Tenure-track position* at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in *Coastal Management*. Start date is August 2016.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a tenure-track faculty who will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in coastal management and natural resource policy as well as supporting the current environmental studies curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in modern analytical techniques and a research program that focuses on issues associated with coastal management and its impact on coastal ecosystems. Familiarity with federal and state coastal regulatory programs that include land use planning is a priority. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in an ecologically or biologically-related discipline completed by the start date and demonstrate the ability to generate externally funded research. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach and conduct research within the interdisciplinary context of current coastal management, policies, and practices with an environmental studies focus. Teaching duties include introductory courses as well as upper division courses, and additional upper level and graduate courses developed in his or her area of expertise. UNCW is located five miles from the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful 656-acre campus in the historic port city of Wilmington on the Cape Fear River.
