A PhD-level graduate assistantship is available in the Golisano Institute of 
Sustainability<http://www.rit.edu/gis/> at the Rochester Institute of 
Technology for participation in an NSF-funded project "Direct and Embodied 
Ecological Impacts across the Fullerene Life Cycleā€¯.  The assistantship 
includes a tuition waiver and stipend, with an August 2015 start date.  The 
selected student will work with a multidisciplinary team of ecologists and 
engineers to evaluate the impact of engineered nanomaterials on aquatic 
organisms and ecosystem functions, and will be co-advised by Dr. Callie Babbitt 
and Dr. Christy Tyler.  Students will be enrolled in the PhD Program in 
Sustainability<http://www.rit.edu/gis/academics/ph.d-sustainability/>.

Successful candidates will have a strong background in ecology, biology, and 
chemistry; preference will be given to students with some experience in 
engineering or industrial ecology and prior research experience.
