The Department of Ecological Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is looking to recruit a PhD student for a project starting in early 2017. The position is fully funded for four years.
The project aims to test the hypothesis that tree species influence soil carbon storage through the interaction of their litter functional traits with the composition and activity of the soil microbial communities. We are looking for candidates with an interest in molecular microbial ecology, soil organic matter dynamics and/or plant functional trait research.
