PhD assistantship in quantitative forest ecology at Penn State:
I'm seeking candidates for a PhD assistantship in quantitative forest ecology starting this Fall 2015. The successful candidate will work on a project evaluating and modeling the interactions between forest ecology and management on forest regeneration with emphasis on the regeneration of oak species. This project has a two summer-long field work component. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have a deep understanding of forest ecology, strong quantitative skills and interest in modeling, and field experience. The PhD assistantship includes tuition waiver, stipend, and summer salary. After selection, the student will be invited to apply to the Graduate School of Penn State to either of two programs: Ecology or Forest Resources.
