Position Summary I am seeking a postdoc to work on problems using integro-difference equations to look at questions in spatial ecology. This position will be supported by my recently awarded NSF grant, Metacommunity dynamics: integrating local dynamics, stochasticity and connectivity. The ideal individual will have expertise in integro-difference equations including both computational and analytical methods and as well as experience with models of ecological systems. The position will be based at UC Davis.
The ideal start date will be June 1, 2019. The initial term will be 1 year with extension for one more year with satisfactory performance. Salary and benefits are competitive. The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer with a strong institutional commitment to the development of a climate that supports equality of opportunity and respect for diversity. Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the PI, the postdoc will develop and analyze models using integro-dfference equations to describe the dynamics of spatial ecological systems and use these models to understand interacting ecological species in a spatial context. How to apply: Email a cover letter describing your background and interests in the position, cv, and contact information for 3 references to Alan Hastings (amhasti...@ucdavis.edu). The position is open until filled.
